Mujib Refutes ‘Allegation’
Shiekh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary East Pakistan Awami League, last night, refuted a local newspaper report that a meeting of the Awami League, addressed by him and the Civil Supplies Minister. Mr. Mansoor Ali, on Tuesday at Khulna was foiled due to disturbance, reports APP.
Describing the report as “false and without any foundation,” he said, the meeting with a record audience” continued till late in the evening in a peaceful atmosphere, “No one even rose up to ask a question much less to disturb the meeting,” he said. Referring to Wednesday’s incidents, he alleged that the procession composed of the NAP and the Muslim League workers had attacked the student’ function and the authorities were compelled to clamp Sec. 144.
