Mujib’s Charge Against ML Refuted

By A Staff Reporter
Mr. A. Sabur, President, District Muslim League, Khulna, in a statment issued yesterday refuted the charge made by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary, East Pakistan Awami League, that the Muslim League in collaboration with the National Awami Party created the disturbance which took place in Khulna on Aug. 4. Mr. Sabur said the Muslim League has always been a silent spectator to “this undemocratic action anywhere in the Province, “The Muslim League, he added, had nothing to do with the provincewide gangsterism which is being indulged in by the party in power.”
Mr. Sabur said that Mr. Mujibur Rahman’s speech at Khulna gave enough provocation to bring out processions and demonstration. “What has amazed us all is the conduct of the police and the use of government vehicles by armed goondas supporting the party in power,” he added.
