লন্ডন
Gentleman of the press,
Today I am free to share the unbounded joy of freedom with my fellow countrymen. We have own the freedom in epic liberation of struggle. The ultimate achievement of the struggle is the creation of an independent sovereign People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Of which my people declared me as the President while I was a prisoner in the condemn cell awaiting the execution of a sentence of hanging. No people has had to pay as high a price in human life and suffering for their freedom as that been exaggerated from the people of Bangladesh. I cannot wait a single moment to return to my people. I congratulate our heroic people both at home and abroad. And the particular all section of the Mukti Bahini who have led their people to their cherished goal of freedom. I also mourn today the sacred memory of the millions of martyrs who lost their lives in this struggle for liberation. And pray to the almighty for the departed souls – the independent sovereign Bengal Republic of Bangladesh which has come into existence the result of the struggle is now an unchallengeable reality. I would like to thank all those people – freedom loving states – who have supported our national liberation struggle – in particular India, Soviet Union, Poland, other east territorial countries, the United Kingdom, France and also those freedom loving people all over the world who supported our cause including the people of the United States of America. I now appeal to all states to stay in recognition to the people’s republic of Bangladesh to enter into diplomatic relations with her to support her immediate admission to United Nations. As regarded the reported talks with Mr Bhuttu – the new president of Pakistan – this consists an open appeal by Mr Bhutto to me and to eh people of Bangladesh – through me to consider finding some possible link between – then and the people of Bangladesh. I told him that I could not say anything about this matter until I return to my people. I repeat the existence of the people of Bangladesh is an unchallengeable reality and that our future relation with any other state must be based on the fundamental reality.
Thank you gentlemen.
