Maintain Patience
Mujib’s Appeal To Labourers

The East Pakistan Minister for Commerce, Labour and Industries, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, addressing a public meeting at Kaslipur, Narayanganj, yesterday, appealed to the workers and labourers to maintain discipline and exercise patience without which no industry could be developed in the country.
The Minister, who inaugurated the rationing system in the area yesterday, dwelt at length in his speech on the economic, agricultural and industrial position in the Province and appealed to the people to give the present ministry at least three years time to cope with the problems.
He said that when the present ministry name into power the overall economic condition of the province was very bad. The total revenue of East Pakistan, he said, was about Rs. 34 crores whereas the expenditure amounted to about Rs. 54 crores. As a result of this deficit and the adverse economic condition help was sought from friendly countries.
The meeting, which was presided over by Mr. Qurban Ali, MPA, was also addressed by Mr. Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury, MPA, Mr. Bazlur Rahman, Secretary, Sub-Divisional Awami League, Mr. Hatem Ali Talukdar and Mr. Dabiruddin Ahmed.
