7 New Ministers Sworn In
Re-Allocation of Portfolios

Seven more Ministers including three members of the minority community were sworn in at Government House yesterday.
The new Ministers are Mr. Masihur Rahman, Mr. Khairat Hussain, Mr. Abdur Rahman Khan and Mr. Mohammad Mansoor Ali from the Awami League, Mr. Dhirendra Nath Dutta of the United Progressive Party and Mr. Manoranjan Dhar and Mr. S. C. Majumdar of the Congress. On the re-allocation of portfolios after the expansion of the East Pakistan Cabinet yesterday, the Chief Minister, Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan, has assumed charge of seven protfolios. They are: Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan- Home (excluding Jails and AntiCorruption), Food, Relief and Rehabilitation, Education, Jute, Planning and Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Mr. Manoranjan Dhar- Finance and Minority Affairs. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman- Commerce, Labour and Industries, Village, Agricultural and Industrial Development, Social Welfare; Community Development Project and Anti-Corruption. Mr. Kafiluddin Chowdhury- Communications, Buildings and Irrigation; Flood Control and Forest. Mr. Mahmud Ali-Revenue, State Acquisition and Jails. Mr. Khairat Hussain- Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry. Mr. Abdur Rahman Khan- Co-operation, Rural Indebtedness and Agricultural Marketing. Mr. Masihur Rahman- Public Relations (Publicity) and Local SelfGovernment. Mr. Mansur Ali- Legislative, Judiciary and Registration. Mr. Dhirendra Nath Dutta- Medical and Public Health. Mr. Sarat Chandra Majumdar- Excise, Salt and Fisheries.
