Demonstration Before Secretariat

A number of persons demonstrated before the East Pakistan Secretariat on Monday morning shouting slogans demanding release of political prisoners, introduction of rationing in rural areas and distribution of rice at cheap price in the Province.
The demonstration was arranged in response to a call by the Awami League General Secretary, Mr. Mujibur Rahman, to organize “Peace Squads” in the city.
The demonstrators formed in a procession before reaching the Secretariat and later returned to the Awami League office to disperse.
