Mujib, Bhashani slate stubborn attitude of ‘Pasban’ management

DACCA, Feb 25: The NAP chief, Maulana Bhashani and Awami League chief, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in separate statements, yesterday urged upon the ‘Pasban’ management to settle the issues with its working journalists, who are on strike for the last 87 days. Following is the statement of Maulana Bhashani:
“The working journalists of the daily ‘Pasban’, who are on strike for the last 87 days for pressing their rightful demand to implement Wage Board of the Working Journalists in Daily ‘Pasban’ are facing starvation due to the stubborn attitude of the ‘Pasban’ management. The Government has also failed to implement the law relating to the service conditions of the working journalists at daily ‘Pasban’. I strongly demand the management to end further exploitation of the working class and settle the issue immediately.”
Following is the statement of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman:
“I am gravely concerned to learn that the journalists of the Daily ‘Pasban’ are on continuous strike for the last 87 days for realisation of their legitimate demands. It is unfortunate that the Management of the Daily ‘Pasban’ has shown intransigence in settling issues with the working journalists who I am told are on a starvation point. I call upon the management to settle the issues to the best interest of the working journalists, the management and the reading public in accordance with the Wage Board Award.”- APP.
