SHEIKH MUJIB RELEASED
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, former minister of the United Front Party was released yesterday (Saturday). Mr. Rahman who was arrested on May 30 last was detained under the East Bengal Safety Ordinance. A Press Note Issued yesterday said, “An application was submitted to the Government today on behalf of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,
detenue under the East Bengal Public Safety Ordinance in which it was stated that the father of the detenue is very seriously ill. “The Government after careful consideration of the application and the full facts of the case have decided to release Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on compassionate grounds. Orders have been issued to release the detenue forthwith.” -APP.
