DAC to evolve agreed formula, says Mujib

DACCA, March 3: the Awami League Chief, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said here tonight that the Central Democratic Action Committee (DAC) would evolve a consensus on constitutional matters for presentation before the Round Table Conference.
Talking to PPI shortly after his return from his home village this evening Sheikh Mujib said that the Central DAC would work out…programmee when it meets in Lahore on March 6.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, further said, he will endeavour to prepare an agreed formula reflecting the wishes of the people to resolve constitutional problems.
Such an agreed programme when arrived at, he further maintained would be placed before the RTC. Meanwhile he would continue to confer with different opposition leaders inside and outside the DAC and hold parleys with them on national issues.
The Awami League chief is also expected to undertake an extensive tour of the interior of the province on his return from West Pakistan.
He will also undertake similar tour in West Pakistan. During these tours he will apprise the people of his viewpoints on various national issues and their remedies.
He will also avail the opportunity of meeting the people particularly those who suffered losses in the mass upsurge.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman returned to Dacca this evening, one day ahead of schedule by a special launch from his village home at Tungipara in Gopalganj sub-division.
A huge crowd welcomed him at the Sadarghat launch station on his return here.
The Sheikh had gone to Tungipara on Feb 27 to see his ailing mother and to spend a few days with his relatives after his release from 33 months detention in Dacca Central Jail and the Dacca Cantonment.
Scores of people from far-flung areas of the adjoining districts of Faridpur stormed the home village of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
According to a delayed report reaching here tonight people in thousands continued to pour in Tungipara in Faridpur. All were anxious to have his glimpse.
People came in processions chanting slogans and requested Sheikh Mujib to address them. During his three-day stay he addressed such gatherings for about a dozen times.
Both during his arrival and departure by a special launch, large crowd mustered strong at the launch to receive and bid him good-bye.

VISITS ITTEFAQ
Shortly after his return here this evening the Awami League Chief visited the “Ittefaq” office where he was taken around different sections of the establishment. Later he went to the Awami League office at Purana Paltan.
Sheikh Mujib will attend for the first time after his release the AL Working Committee meeting to be held at his residence here on March 5.
He will leave here for Lahore on the following day to attend the Pakistani Awami League Organising Committee meeting. He will also attend the Central DAC meeting and the Round Table Conference at Rawalpindi during his stay in West Pakistan.
The Awami League chief will accompanied to West Pakistan by a member of his party men.-PPI.
