Radio report about Mujib contradicted
The organising Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League, (six- point) Mr. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury last night contradicted a news item broadcast by Radio Pakistan that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would go to Rawalpindi to attend the round-table conference on parole, reports (APP).
In a statement issued to the Press, Mr. Rahman said there was absolutely no truth in the report. He said that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would not attend the talk unless the Agartala Conspiracy Case was withdrawn.
Mr. Mizanur Rahman said: “I am shocked to listen to a radio news Quoting Mr. Farid Ahmed, MNA about the release of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on parole and his going to Rawalpindi to attend the round-table conference.
“There is absolutely no truth in this report. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will not attend the talks unless the Agartala Conspiracy Case is withdrawn. I wonder how Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, Covener of DAC could confirm this misleading news. I on behalf of the East Pakistan Awami League protest against this news broadcast by Radio Pakistan as Sheikh Mujib is still in the cantonment.”
