প্রথম ৫ মাসে শরনার্থীদের কতজন হিন্দু? ব্যয় কত?

মুক্তিযুদ্ধের প্রথম পাঁচ মাসে ৮৩ লক্ষ শরনার্থী ভারতে যায়। এর মধ্যে ৭০ লাখ হিন্দু। ৫ লাখ মুসলমান। এদের ৫৭ লাখ ক্যাম্পে এবং ২৫ লাখ বাইরে ছিলো। প্রতিদিন গড়ে ৩ টাকা বরাদ্দ ছিলো একজনের জন্য। মোট খরচ ৪৩২ কোটি টাকা (৫৭৬ মিলিয়ন ডলার) এবং বিদেশ থেকে সাহায্য আসে মাত্র ১৪৭ মিলিয়ন ডলার। অর্থাৎ মোট চাহিদার ২৫% বা চার ভাগের এক ভাগ। [1]

The total number of refugees was 8.3 million in the first five months among which 2.5 million stayed outside the camps. The daily budget was 3 Rupees per person per day and the total expenditure calculated was 576 million USD of which only 25% came as aid from the countries other than India. Among the first 7.5 million refugees, 500 thousand were Muslims and the others were Hindus.[1]
