Order to burn Pak mission documents
NEW DELHI, OCT. 28-The Pakistani High Commission here has ordered burning of all its current classified documents, it is reliably learnt.
Such action is generally taken as a prelude to war, so that the documents may not fall into others hands. Some documents are said to have already been destroyed.
This action, and the previous mass transfer move of High Commission’s employees confirm the fear that Pakistan is planning an attack in India.
The growing success of the Mukti Bahini in Bangladesh has shaken the morale of the West Pakistani personnel of the High Commission. The few Bengali employees who are still working in the mission have been removed from all the “sensitive” departments.
A Bengali diplomat who is still working with the High Commission is the son-in-law of Mr. Hamidul Haq Chowdhury a former Pakistani Foreign Minister.
