US arms ban does not irk Pakistan
UNITED NATIONS. NOV. 13The Pakistani Foreign Secretary, Mr. S. M. Khan said yesterday he respected the US decision to suspend arms shipments to Pakistan says AP.
“I cannot say we don’t need military hardware, but we respect the decisions of our friends and we are not in the habit of complaining about them”. Mr. Khan told newsmen. He declared that arms were available “from one sourece or another.”
Mr. Khan called on the General Assembly President, Mr. Adam Malik and Mr. Roberto Guyer, Under,-secretary-general for Special Political Affairs.
The visit to the UN and the USA is part of a diplomatic move that has taken him to Moscow and Peking. He plans to go to Washington and Ottawa.
A spokesman for the Pakistan Mission said the Foreign Secretary will also meet President Nixon’s Special Adviser, Mr. Kissinger.
