31st October was an extremely tragic day when Mrs. Indera Gandhi was assassinated four decades back as a backslash by the Shikhs those guarding her at her official residence. A great black cloud of sadness overshadowed the sky over India and we out of Bangladesh went frozen with intense sorrow. This was the second victim of our leadership of ominous victory of 16th December 1971 at Racecourse ground with the 93 thousand lion’s led by lambs. A trumpet and mammoth victory we together with Indian forces alliance close-clinched unprecedented pourful victory ever recorded moment of history.
Brothers and Sisters of Bangladesh. For your knowledge and for some to revisit our 48 years back in the previous century She Mrs. Indera Gandhi has done her job viz. gave every support to us thereby bringing to a unprecedented Victory, and her job was a job like Angel from the Heaven. We continue to remember her with our ever hat’s off.
(Today I want to reveal the time after liberation war specially.)
Then in 1972, our leadership wanted that the Indian troops should be away back to India,(probably to appease the opposing population to liberation), that She adhered to. That today in retrospect we applaud her may not have continued if her Indian Army had stayed back, giving the look of an ‘Occupation Army’.
She noticed with great concern, during the most critical and crucial period of ’71 our dissent young leadership were opposed to the defacto government. She could foresee that even in moment of war our those young leadership failed to show unity amongst ourselves.
Again on return of our summit leadership from Pakistani captivity demanded the Indian troops withdrawal as a priority.
It was the period of reconstruction of the damaged and burned out total topography of Bangladesh, including all major bridges viz Bhairab-Ashuganj and Pakshi Bridge connecting Rajshahi-Kushtia. Besides thousands of small and big culverts all over ramshackle war divested Bangladesh. She left with her absolute Grace.
One thing everyone forgets is from top to bottom our damaged population needed total psychological reconstruction which any civilized country wold offer to go through, which includes our political stalwarts including the summit leadership. There is nothing wrong to take treatment for physical and mental health and illness.
The biggest u-turn as to befriend the Muslim world and Islamic world those never wanted us to be free, rather opposed our would be freedom.
Mistakes of past gave the sleeper cells left by the Pakistani perpetrators to reorganize very easily and very quickly… The then leadership served purpose and paved way for their own destruction and finally the greatest Tragedy!!!
(Mrs. Indira Gandhi was born on 19th Nov 1917, and died 0n 31st Nov 1984. She was named by Kavi Guru as Indira Priyo Darshani.rather ইন্দিরা প্রিয়দর্শিনী।)
