Pravda highlights Swaran Singh’s statement
MOSCOW, July, 22.-The Indian Foreign Minister, Mr. Swaran Singh’s statement in Parliament on the possible negative consequences of Sino-American rapprocheemnt was receive din Moscow today with apparent sympathy, according to PTI.
The apprehensions voiced by the Indian Minister, and presumably also conveyed at the highest level, struck an instant responsive chord as shown by the play given to the statement in “Pravda’ today because, according to analysis, they fitted in with Moscow’s assessment of China’s long-term political aims in the region.
Pravda highlighted Mr. Singh’s statement that India could not rest in peace if the Sino-American rapprochement meant an attempt on the part of these powers to dominate South-East Asia.
Mr. Singh’s statement formed the main foreign comment in Pravda today on developments in Sino-American relations which have still not been commented upon directly.
