Pak Plan For U. N. Initiative
NEW DELHI, Aug. 17— Pakistan today made a proposal for what is called “de-fusing the present tension along the Indo-Pakistan border, reports PTI.
In a letter to the President of the Security Council Pakistan’s permanent representative at the U. N. has suggested that a “good offices committee” should visit areas of tension on the border.
The committee should consist of members of the Security council, the letter said according to Radio Pakistan.
AP adds from Rawalpindi: The new Soviet Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. A. A. Rodinov, delivered a message from his Government to President Yahya Khan in a hastily arranged meeting today. A Foreign Office spokesman said the message “dealt with the security of the region”
