  • Radio Pakistan broadcasts the resignation announcement of Pakistan President Yahya Khan. He will resign handing over the power.Pakistan People’s Party leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is on his way home from New York. He might be the next head of government.
  • Former Pakistan Air Force chief Air Marshall Asgar Khan in a Rawalpindi press conference calls Yahya foolish and demanded his appropriate punishment and associated generals.
  • Returning from Bangladesh, British MP John Stonehouse describes the atrocity of Pakistan army. He says that he saw bodies lying on the streets. Six Pakistan army officers along with a Major General made a list of almost 2,000 Bengali intellectuals for killing.
  • Bangladesh might put former governor Malik on tribunal as a war criminal. He is taken to the cantonment under heavy security –Clare Hollingsworth, a reporter of The Daily Telegraphtells her office via the reconnected international telephone service.
