- As the Pakistan army became vulnerable in the frontiers day by day, President Yahya Khan declares emergency. Pakistan is invaded, he says.
- Pakistan troops attack and regain Chandrapur from Muktibahini. Major Ainuddin of Muktibahini sends a team to bring in the bodies of dead freedom fighters. Pakistan troops opened fire on the team and killed several more freedom fighters. India lost six soldiers as well.
- Muktibahini attack Pakistan base at Mondobhag region and kill many Pakistan troops that compelled them to flee. Later, the Pakistan military attack a Muktibahini camp near Monora railway bridge with help of 106th RR Artillery battalion and destroy a bunker. Muktibahini fought with the last drop of their blood and pushed the intruders towards Burichang and Comilla. A freedom fighter is martyred and four others are injured.
- Muktibahini kill six Pakistan troops and Razakars with mortars at Srirampur in Khulna.
- Central Jamaat leader Maolana Abdur Rahim, Ghulam Azam, AKM Yusuf and Abdul Khaleque leave Dhaka for Pakistan to discuss the latest political conditions.
- Prime Minister of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Tajuddin Ahmad addresses the nation in the radio. In his speech he says: “Around two and half months ago, I reviewed the Liberation War for you. We found many successes from different angles in the mean time. The independence, fought with bloods and tears, is not very far. Let’s take this war to the final stage,” he says.
