- SM Masud, Press Attaché of Pakistani embassy in Tokyo and its third Secretary Mohammad Abdur Rahman cut their relations with the country and express solidarity with the Bangladesh government. Wakilur Rahman, charge the affairs of Pakistan in Switzerland, also does so and announces his solidarity with the Bangladesh government.
- China threatens India to resolve all problems including Bangladesh war issue with Pakistan through discussions. And China also warns India not to assist Bangladeshi freedom fighters by providing arms.
- Biplobi Bangladesh newspaper publishes a report saying that the brave freedom fighters of Kishoreganj town of Mymensingh are able to free the area from the Pak army members. Mukti Bahini also takes control of Pakundia, Hossenpur, Katiadi, Astogram, Karimganj, Itna and Nikli thanas of Mymensingh. At least 20 Pak soldiers are killed and many injured during the face to face battle between Pak army and freedom fighters.
- According to an order of Captain Huda, lieutenant Alik Gupta leads a platoon of EPR and ambushes at BOP near Hijli of Maslia. The Pak army men go back in the face of the firing by the group. The Pak army soldiers in a few minutes return and attack again on Lt Gupta at the Riar Support. Young officer Lt Alik fight bravely with the Pak soldiers. Commander Najmul Huda with two platoons of Mukti Bahini rush to the spot when he hears about their (Mukti Bahini) fight and attack to the Pakistanis. At the end of the gun battle, many flee the spot taking huge arms and explosives. Later 12 bodies are found there.
- In Chittagong, an oil-tanker capsizes at the port after the Mukti Bahini commandos carry out a mine explosion on the ship. Eight crews of the ship are killed in the explosion.
