- Intense fighting between freedom fighters and Pakistan military in Rajshahi’s frontier Ghoshpur village. Several Pakistan troopers are killed and the freedom fighters took away huge arms, ammunitions and explosives.
- Muktibahini guerillas attack Pakistani troopers in Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 3 guard Razakars are killed and two others injured.
- Muktibahini ambush Pakistani military in Boira sub-sector of sector 8 killing two killed and injuring two others.
- Muktibahini guerillas bomb laden-trucks of the Pakistanis on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway with grenades and kill three troopers.
- US Foren Minister Rogers, in the UN General Assembly, says the incident of Pakistan is a matter of its internal affairs. He proposes that the refugees who fled to India be handed over to Pakistan.
- Chinese consul General Sieau Chiwjei says his government and people would always support Pakistan against foreign attacks in its internal affairs.
- A report of Sangrami Bangla says 22 officers and over 4,000 killed, Razakars and Badar groups of Pakistan are dead.
