- The first brigade Z Force formed with first, third and eight East Bengal. The brigade was named after the first latter of Major Ziaur Rhaman. Major Ziaur Rahman made as brigade commander of Z Force and Captain Ali Ahmed given the charge as brigade Major.
- A group of freedom fighters attack Baraigram school camp of Pakistani military in Sylhet. Three Pakistan soldiers killed in gunfight with freedom fighters.
- A violent fighting take place between freedom and Pakistan army at Telipara tea garden area of Sylhet. 39 Pakistani soldiers are killed.
- Henry Kissinger, the national security affairs assistant of US president, meets Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandi and Foreign Minister Sharan Sing separately over Bangladesh issue.
- Senator Frank Church criticises the Nixon-led administration in Senate meeting and calls upon the government to bring back the arm loaded ship that was sent to Pakistan.
- PDP president Nawabjada Nasrullah Khan in a press conference demands immediate trial of Awami League President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
- Supporting the steps of Pakistan government, National Jubo Council President Mahbubur Rahman calls upon the government to suspend diplomatic ties with Britain as if necessary. He also called the patriot citizens to take steps against separatist freedom fighters.
- Begum Akter Solaiman in an interview with BBC Bangla lauds Yahya Khan that he is really cordial to handover the power.
- ‘Gramrakkhi Dal’ formed in Birlia village in Savar under the leadership of Md Akhlas Mia.
