- Two Pakistani Diplomats Shahabuddin Ahmed and Amjadul Haq, working in the Pakistani Embassy of New Delhi abort all relations with Pakistan and pledge their support for Bangladesh. They are the first diplomats to support Bangladesh.
- Muslim League Leader MA Sabur meet Marshall law administrator Lieutenant general Tikka Khan and assures him of further military assistance
- The provincial Amir of Jaamat-e-Islami Golam Azam, along with Golam Sarwar and Maulana Nurujjaman in a joint statement said that we believe that as patriots of East Pakistan, anywhere that a freedom fighter is spotted, then and there they will be attacked. Also in eradicating these freedom fighters, utmost support will be provided to the military.
- Islamic Republic Party’s president Maulana Nurujjaman Khan says in a statement in Dhaka “the Pakistan Military authorities are deployed in daunting and eradicating the freedom fighters and patriotic citizens will support the military in protecting the interest of the nation”
- The entire Sylhet region comes under the control of the Mukti Bahini and the Pakistan military gathers around near the airport of Sylhet and Lakkatura Tea estate.
- Nilphamari goes under the hold of the Pakistan army and the freedom fighters take defence in Khanshama.
