- More than one lakh refugees in search of a safe abode leave behind beloved Motherland and cross the border into India.
- In the Chittagong Hill tracts, a one-Kilowatt range/power independent Bangla radio station is established.
- The Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi pledges her and her people’s support for the fight for democracy and freedom of Bangladesh in the parliament.
- Apart from the cantonment the entire Jessore city is freed. And so is Dinajpur.
