Mujib’s suggestion about Bhashani: EPSU surprised
The members of the Central Committee of the East Pakistan Students Union (Menon group) in a statement issued on Sunday expressed their utter surprise at the suggestion of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman asking Maulana Bhashani to quit politics.
The statement said that all are aware that Maulana Bhashani is in the forefront of the movement which is fighting the anti-imperialist forces for the establishment of democratic society in the country. If the Maulana quits politics, the statement said, the democratic movement would not only face a severe jolt but it would also help the imperialist forces, the statement further said and added that when the reactionary forces were trying to subvert the peoples’ movement all the democratic forces should unite for the achievement of the 11-point programme.
