Mujib denounces attempts to create division
RAWALPINDI, March 11: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, chief of the Awami League, denounced here tonight attempts by vested interests to create a division between the people of East and West Pakistan.
Talking to this correspondent before he left for the evening session of the RTC, Sheikh Saheb said he was of the firm view that the people of West Pakistan fully supported all legitimate demands of their East Pakistan brethren.
He said vested interests in order to perpetuate their rule were trying ceaselessly to create division among the people of Pakistan. Those who talk of division are only serving their selfish ends, he said.
Meanwhile, the Awami League chief is receiving scores of telegrams from both West and East Pakistan expressing full confidence in his leadership and felicitating him in his endeavour to get restored the lost rights of the people.
Some of the telegrams also mentioned some of the grievances of the people and urge Sheikh Saheb to take them up for redress. – PPI.
