We Want to listen Tagore’s Songs: Mujib
By A Staff Correspondent
Awami League leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the mammoth public meeting at the Ramna Race Course on Sunday said that the people of East Pakistan want to listen to Tagore’s songs and read his inimitable works and there is none who could stop it.
Criticising the move for banning Tagore, the Sheikh warned those interested quarters to desist from such move. He particularly mentioned of Radio Pakistan and said that the Radio must put the tunes of Tagore.
He said that Tagore was an universal poet and translations of his works are being read in most civilized countries. It will be most unfortunate if we could not read such a literary giant especially when he wrote in my mother tongue, he added.
