BANGLA DESH: A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED

To Yahya Khan-Tikka Khan atrocities the Bengali population of East Pakistan declared Independence People’s Republic of Bangla Desh. But with what preparations? Only with the slogan Joi Bangla. Will that resist Yahya-Tikka forces ready to wipe not the whole nation. The new nation, the new republic has not been recognised by any power, any country, small or big, promising military assistance except Israel. India is yet to wait because she is big, and big enemy to Pakistan, and also perhaps because China is a bigger country and ready to hold arms against India for the sake of her darling Pakistan and West Pakistan’s Ali Bhutto, Bangla Desh will be the second largest country of the muslim world and as such did not accept the recognition and offer of arms by Israel, which is yet open. Bangla Desh was looking to the muslim world to come to her rescue, but the muslim world looked to Yahya Khan and supported his brutalities as Pakistan’s internal affairs. The muslim world has forgotten the Islamic principles for the sake of Yahya Khan and his West Pakistani cliques, because Pakistan prefixes the words ‘Islamic Republic’. The muslim world forgot Yahya Khan is East Pakistan because of their demand for HAQ (rights) are highly unislamic.

Bangla Desh has given enoush time to all peace-loving democratic countries including the muslim world. In her need to resist Yahya-Tikka atrocities if Bangla Desh accepts the recognition of Israel should the muslim world have any moral courage to raise any objection to it. In fact Pakistan’s partners in defence pacts like SEATO and CENTO and Pakisan’s exclusive muslim partners in regional cooperaton RCD Iran and Turkey recognise Israel at the sametime winning the goodwill of the muslim countries and Arabs. Why Bangla Desh cannot accept recognition and arms from Israel when she has been neglected by her muslim brethren at the time of her need for help.

In the interest of Islam the Muslim countries should offer friendly advice to Yahya Khan to take his hands off from Bangla Desh and allow it to prosper. This will rather strengthen Muslim unity and will still provide room for both West Pakistan and Bangla Desh people to sit together is Islamic forums.
