The delegation had presented the Ambassador three- point statement which in essence contained a protest against the mass murder of people in East Pakistan including University students.
Ambassader Ghafur promised to convey, the student’s protest to his government in Pakistan.
The five representatives received by the Ambassador were Chaidir Makarim, Juwomo Scedarsono (lecturer). Wiladi Buditorga, Widija Socdojo and Poernama.
The protest statement in full reads as follows:
WHATS THE ADVANTAGE OF USING FORCE AGAINST MANKIND IN PAKISTAN?
….. people were machinegunned, university broken down, students and professors murdered.
(East Pakistan today)
- Force without humanity of whatever reasons, cannot be justified and cannot be considered meaningless by who so ever of wherever he may be. Not only could we justify FORCE to being used for problem-solving or just to satisfy one’s hysterical Just or passion, but FORCE itself eliminates the basic human right of this world’s society.
- The absence of freedom of expression and the extinction of freedom to be free or fear are parts of the … social effect brought about by such FORCE. What happened in East Pakistan is more then that. Peoples were killed, Universities broken down, the students as well as the professors were fired on on ground of the above motive we are of the opinion that the Government of Pakistan has no right to revert the matter into political issue in the country. What the whole mankind desire most now is a guarantee of their basic values.
- Tempted by a sense of responsibility as far as moral duty is concerned. We, being a part of the society, hold high the values of freedom of mankind in search of truth and urge the cessation resorting to FORCE against the populace and find a solution through peaceful means We earnstly urge the Government of Pakistan not to use violence against the University autonomy and terminate horrible killing of students and professors,…
