Hearing in Mujib case concludes
(By Our High Court Correspondent)
The Special Bench of the Dacca High Court consisting of Mr. Justice Salahuddin Ahmed, Mr. Justice Abdullah and Mr. Justice Abdul Hakim concluded hearing of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s detention case.
Their lordships reserved their judgment in the case. The judgement will be delivered at a later date.
The case arising out of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s detention under Defence of Pakistan Rules was remanded by the Supreme Court to the Dacca High Court to rehear the case in the light of its recent judgment in the retention case of Malik Ghulam Jilani. In that case the Supreme Court had held that even executive orders in such cases were subject to judicial review.
The hearing of the remand case lasted for six days.
