Mujib’s Petition: High Court issues show cause rule
DACCA, May 13: The Dacca High Court today issued rule upon the Goverenment of East Pakistan and two others to show cause why Messers Mujibur Rahman, Tajuddin Ahmad, Kh. Mushtaq and Nurul Islam of the Awami League should not be brought before the court and set at liberty.
The rule was issued by Mr Justice B.A. Siddiqi and Mr justice A. B. Mohammad Hossain on habeas corpus petitions moved in the High Court by Mr Abdus Salam, advocate.
It may be mentioned here that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President of the East Pakistan Awami League, and three other Awami League leaders were arrested here last week under Defence of Pakistan Rules for “prejudicial activities.” –PPA.
