Protest Against Mujib’s Arrest

A Public Meeting organised by the Awami League held yesterday at Baitul Mokarram demanded the immediate release of the party leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After the meeting, a procession of the Awami League workers marched through Nawabpur.
Meetings were also held by a section of students at Dacca University and of workers at Tejgaon Industrial Area and Adamjee Jute Mills.
The workers’ meetings also demanded prompt and offensive measures to bring down the prices of essential commodities.
A protest meeting and demonstration will again be held at Baitul Mukarram at 5 p.m. today.
The Awami League is also observing protest day on May 13 (Friday). A public meeting will be held at the Outer Stadium at 1 p.m.
