Mujib released on bail
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President of the East Pakistan Awami League called on Monday for a ceaseless struggle for the realisation of his party’s six-point programme, reports PPA.
He was addressing a crowd which had assembled near the Second Capital to receive him on his arrival by car from Mymensingh after having been released from police custody on bail granted by the District and Sessions Judge, Mymensingh earlier on Monday.
Sheikh Mujib told the crowd that “no amount of torture and coercion” would dampen “our spirit”. “Our struggle would continue,” he declared.
He again described the six-point programme as “the MagnaCarta” and said on it rested the country’s progress and prosperity.”
