Mujib’s 6-point a threat to Pakistan
KHULNA, March 5:Choudhry Mohammad Ali, Chief of Nizam-eIslam Party yesterday criticised the Six-Point programme of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and cautioned that it was a direct threat to the integrity of Pakistan, reports APP.
Choudhry Mohammad Ali was speaking at a public meeting here arranged by Nizame Islam Party. He said that Sheikh Mujib referred to 1940 Lahore Resolution in favour of his Six-Point programme, but in 1946 All-India Muslim League Conference passed resolution for a strong central government and the resolution was moved by no less a person than late Mr. Suhrawardy.
Mr. Choudhry also said that Sheikh Mujib’s Six-points were enacted in the 1956 Constitution which was signed by his party and referred to the combined Opposition Party’s Nine-Point Programme which and also included these points.
He posed a question, “Why them Sheikh Saheb had brought absolutely a new theory having a strong province with a very weak centre. He said that provincial autonomy must be restored according to 1956 Constitution which was agreed upon by all party and for that all Opposition parties must unitedly move for the restoration of democracy in the country which is the need of the hour.
