Mujib’s Statement
DACCA, Dec 23: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League, today alleged that while the entire Governmental machinery had been mobilised for the publicity of the Muslim League Presidential candidate, COP’s nominee was being denied even the common courtesy.
In a statement to the Press he said Miss Fatima Jinnah had to stay in the railway saloon for full 24 hours at the Rajshahi and Ishurdi Railway stations due to authorities’ denial of courtesy in the matter of accommodation. He alleged that the radio and the Information Department were devoting most of their energies towards the publicity of Muslim League’s Presidential candidate. The officials he said, had no business to accompany a particular Presidential candidate. -PPA
