MRS. GANDHI CONDEMNS U.S.

INDIA is a dead rival to Pakistan when partition took place and has nothing new when Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi made enmity statement against Pakistan. But this time the Prime Minister, after a 15-minute talks with U.S. President Richard Nixon’s adviser Henry Kissinger, condemned the U.S. deliveries of arms to Pakistan as a threat to peace on the sub continent.

When India launched a massive armed attack against Pakistan in 1965 the U.S. armed supplies to Pakistan was discontinued on the impact of the conflicting open their propaganda machines on this sensitive issue. So it is not a surprise if Mrs. Gandhi repeatedly push-the-button due to he continuation of the U.S. arms deliveries to Pakistan.

Mrs. Gandhi rejected the view that “the impact of the U.S. arms supplies will be militarily marginal “and she said that the current supplies were connected to Washington’s 2,000 million dollar assistance for Pakistan before the armed conflict of 1965.

Commenting on President Yahja Khan’s setatement on his intention to establish a democratic Pakistan. Mrs. Gandhi declared that Yahya’s intention did not signify a political solution and would not lead to the return of the refugees.

“Kissinger go back” When President Nixon’s advisor Kissinger arrived in New Delhi Tuesday he was greeted by 100 demonstrators carrying black flags and the following day about 30 parliamentarians including members of the ruling party of Mrs. Gandhi marched to the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi chanting “Kissinger Go Back” handed in a memorandum protesting against the U.S. arms supplies to Pakistan.

In order to gain more public supports, India focused on the U.S. arms deliveries as its main target to get run their propaganda machines.
