Prize capture

The Indian Army on Tuesday had a prize catch of a brigadier, the highest ranking Pakistani officer captured so far in the Bangladesh liberation operations, says PTI.
Briefing newsmen in Calcutta on Tuesday night, a spokesman for the Eastern Command named the officer as Brigadier Khadir Khan, Commander of 93 Pakistani Brigade.
He was captured in the Khalikar area near Joydebpur which is about eight kilometers from Dacca Cantonment.
Seven other officers were also captured. They were : Lt. Col. Mohammed Akbar, Sector Commander of Civil Armed Forces, Lt. Col. Amir Mohammed Khan, Martial Law Administrator of Mymensingh, Major Mohamed Akbar Brigade, Major 93 Brigade, Major Masjeed, Major Basir Ahmed and Capt. Anjam of 93 Brigade.
Two other officers, Major Aldhar Hajwaand and Major Asgar, Wing Commanders of Rangers were also taken prisoner.
Replying to questions on this “prize capture,” the spokesman said : “It indicates some senior Army officers are pulling out fast. Perhaps they were caught unawares by the pace of our advance towards Joydebpur.” he added.
