Clashes Between BSF & Pak Troops
From Our Correspondent, AGARTALA, Aug. 22 – Apart from uninterrupted shelling, firing and other hostile activities by Pakistani troops in the State’s bordering areas, face-to-face encounters between Pakistani army and Indian BSF men have taken place, inside Indian territory according to delayed reports received here.
On August 19, Pakistani troops attacked the Asharambari border outpost in Khowal subdivision, about 48 km from here. A clash between the BSF men and Pakistani troops became inevitable. The latter were compelled to fall back; no casualties on the Indian side were reported. The Pakistani troops again shelled the same border post on August 20.
According to the reports, the Pakistani soldiers, from their Chittagong bases intruded into the Lakshmi Kumar village, bordering the State’s Sabroom sub-division about 125 km from here on August 18 and opened fire, injuring several villagers. The Pakistani soldiers dragged away an Indian BSF man from Indian territory.
