Pak diplomats now feel the pinch
NEW DEHLI AUG. 5— The Pakistan Government is cutting down the foreign allowances of its diplomatic staff, according to reports reaching here, says, PTI
Faced with a serious foreign exchange deficit as a result of its military adventure in East Bengal, the Pakistani Government has suggested to its diplomatic staff to accept deferred payment of part of their emoluments.
These reports also said that all Bengali staff in more than a dozen Pakistan mission have been “grounded” and are not allowed to handle secret files or telegrams. The demoralization has reached such limits that in one Pakistani mission only one Press release has been issued since March 25.
