AL chief hopes DAC will demand release of Mujib

LAHORE, Feb 15 (APP): Syed Nazrul Islam, Acting President of the Awami League (Six Pointers) today expressed the hope that the Committee would stick to its demand for the release of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and withdrawal of the case against him.
Talking to newsmen on his arrival from Dacca at the head of four-member contingent of his party, Syed Nazrul Islam said it was one of the eight points agreed upon between components of the DAC that all political cases including those that might be pending before the courts or tribunals should be withdrawn.
Asked what would be the decision of his party if the Central Democratic Action Committee meeting later tonight decided that the offer of President Ayub might be accepted despite absence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Syed Nazrul Islam said ‘We never hope that the DAC will take such a decision. Pressed to state the attitude his party in case such a decision was arrived at he said ‘I cannot say”.

MUZAFFAR
The President of the East Pakistan National Awami Party (Requisitionists) Prof Muzaffar Ahmad said here this evening that the people should not be disillusioned by any dialogue and they should continue their struggle within the dialogue and outside it”.
He was talking to newsmen on his arrival here from Dacca at the head of a four-member contingent of his party Prof Muzaffar Ahmad said, ‘the only weapon at the disposal of the unarmed people is the movement and the movement should be peaceful and disciplined.
