People Warned Against Taking Communal View
NEW DELHI, July 2.– The Prime Minister today chided those who sought to give a communal colour to the struggle in Bangladesh and stressed that it was a national upsurge, reports UNI.
Addressing the first meeting of the Committee to Combat Communalism, consisting of M. P.s, Mrs. Gandhi called for a correct perspective of the struggle in Bangladesh overriding any sectarian consideration.
Any attempt to blame the Indian Muslims for the Army atrocitics in Bangladesh, Mrs Gandhi warned, would amount to playing into the hands of the military regime of Pakistan and giving in to its propaganda. This would also betray the cause the Bangladesh people were struggling for she said.
