Rs. 3.3. Crore U. S. Food Aid to India
NEW DELHI, Sept. 9.-Mr. Kenneth Keating, U.S. Ambassador to India, here today that an emergency U.S. relief programme had 1.8 million victims of flood and drought in eastern and southern India, says a USIS release.
About 20,000 tonnes of wheat, vegetable oil and fortified blended foods, worth s 3.3 crores. ($4.5 million), will be distributed.
Four U.S. voluntary agencies will handle the distribution in more than 20 districts in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Mysore, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
