The Awami Chief, Mr. H. S. Suhrawardy, is leaving for Karachi to accompanied by the former Chief Minister, Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan and the East Pakistan Awami general secretary, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will attend the meeting of the Finance committee in Karachi on July 10 and will return to Dacca on July 11. Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan is expected to stay in the federal capital for some time.
During his short stay in Dacca Mr. Suhrawardy is understood to have had discussions with the leader of the NAP parliamentary party in East Pakistan Assembly, Haji Mohammad Danish, on the attitude of the NAP towards the Awami Coalition party. Haji Danish had reportedly assured the Awami chief that his party would honour the earlier decision to support the Awami government. He was, however, stated to have said at the resolution of the Parliamentary party was before the organising committee for its approval. The NAP leader is understood to have expressed his “full confidence that the “unpublished” understanding would be ratified by the organising committee.
