P.M ARRIVES IN KARACHI
KARACHI, Sept. 22:-The Prime Minister, Mr. H. S. Suhrawardy returned here this evening after a ten-day tour of Dacca. He was received at the airport by a number of prominent citizens, high-ranking Government officials, Awami Leaguers and admirers. The Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Abdul Aleem was also present at the airport to welcome the Prime Minister. Mr. Suhrawardy parried all the questions put to him by the waiting pressmen saying that he would not say a word without fully examining the situation. Most of the questions related to the West Pakistan politics.
Earlier Mr. Suhrawardy left Dacca for Karachi by the PIA plane. Asked by newsmen at the Tejgaon Airport to comment on the passage of the Anti-One Unit resolution by the West Pakistan Assembly, the prime Minister said he could not say anything about it without consulting his Cabinet colleagues and the President. Replying to a question about coalition talks between the Awami League and the krishak Sramik Party, Mr. Suhrawardy said no decision had yet been taken on the matter.
The Prime Minister told pressmen that he had made it a point to visit East Pakistan once in a month.
Mr. Suhrawardy was seemed off by a large number of people including Chief Minister Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan and his Cabinet colleagues, General Secretary of East Pakistan Awami League Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Mr. Abdul Khalique high civil and military officials and non-officials.-APP.
