Indian border defence units alerted
From Our Special Correspondent, NEW DELHI, May 12-Defence authorities here emphasise that Indian defence units have been adequately alerted throughout the border areas with East Bengal.
This has taken place in the wake of border incidents created by the Pakistani Army and the Pakistani Air Force.
India is prepared for any eventuality, the Defence sources point out. This, however, does not mean that India will give in to Pakistani provoration, they add.
Meanwhile, they confirm of air space violation day before yesterday in the Cooch Behar area.
There had been cases, of late, of Pakistani Army units firing into Indian villages in West Bengal and Tripura leading to casualties. Till now, the Defence sources do not take these incidents as a part of a planned attack on Indian territory by the Pakistani Army in East Bengal.
But as incidents of this nature had been increasing, the Indian defence units have had to be alerted.
As the Pakistani Army is in control of nearly all check-posts in the border areas, triggerhappy soldiers on the other side of the border.
