City Awami League W. C. Meets

An emergent meeting of the Working Committee of the Dacca City Awami Muslim League held on Saturday gave a vote of confidence in the leadership of Mr. H. S. Suhrawardy and Maulana Abdul Hameed Khan Bhasani, and demaned the release of all political prisoners. By a resolution, the Working Committee placed on record their appreciation of the services to the nation rendered by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami Muslim League, and Mr. Yar Mohammad Khan Treasurer. The Working Committee expelled Mr. Shaukat Ali, a member of the Dacca City Awami Muslim League Council, from the League’ for a period of 5 years as a disciplinary measure. A sub-committee of 9 members was formed vested with all powers for organising the Awami League and taking up relevant matters as it comes up for disposal.
