Students swarm to Chaklala to receive Mujib
RAWALPINDI, Feb 20: About 1,000 students and youngsters this afternoon gathered at the Chaklala airport to receive Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was reportedly scheduled to travel from Dacca to Rawalpindi.
Although it was known hours before the arrival of the plane that Mr. Rahman is not travelling to Rawalpindi by that flight, people still gathered there, as the PIA Fokker flight, PK-622, landed at the airport. The crowd rushed to the aircraft and mobbed it.
Later, they spotted a former West Pakistan Chief Minister, Sardar Abdur Rashid and raised “Zindabad” slogans for him. They also asked Mr. Rahsid to address the gathering.
Sardar Abdur Rashid asked the students and youngsters to keep their struggle on the right line, and wished them peace and prosperity.
